The drum-tec Bass Drum Improvement Inlay was developed for e-drummers and DIY builders who want to improve the playing feel and reduce the volume of their E-kick. The special foam reduces mechanical impact noise inside the bass drum and provides an optimised playing feel.
As the construction and design of E-kicks can vary, the inlay serves as a universal base and may need to be cut or adapted depending on the application.
Ok, so, I bought it combined with a new "Real feel" 3 plys head and added a DT dot pro on top of the cake.
Yeah, that changes a lot of things : no bouncing compared to the original head and foam layer ad no more double triggering. The feeling and reactivity are much closer from what you can expect from this range of product (I mean the kick pad itself) , and quite close from a acoustic feeling. But I have some concerns. How will this foam will age and either the pad itself. The original foam layer is attached to a metal plate screwed to the plastic structure of the pad that participates by a lot to the rigidity of the Kick, I think. And this metal plate was avoiding the foam to be directly in contact of the "plastic rays" structure used to rigidify the plastic structure of the pad. So I hope it wont alter the aging of my Kick pad neither the plastic rays will damage this expensive piece of foam.

J’ai joué sur le kick d’origine pendant 3 jours, puis j’ai commandé cette mousse, parce que la sensation avec la pédale ne me plaisait pas Quelle heureuse surprise ! La nuit et le jour ! Le touché est super confortable, ça déclenche beaucoup mieux, le son des deux battes est équilibré Je suis vraiment bluffé qu’un simple pain de mousse upgrade mon kick à ce point ! Je recommande sans réserve
